Beautiful Cruise. Great weather, fantastic service, new ship. Itinerary changed. Skipping Key West and Grand Cayman during week 1. Instead we get a sea day and then Costa Maya. A cruise with Rick and Judy for 14 days. Everything went great. Ports were unimportant as we have been to all of them before. It was just getting away after almost 2 years. The new ship had plusses and minuses. Pluses included the new area, Eden. Spaceious airy setting with nightly theme shows or live music. Food was very good all over the ship but the best was the Fine Cuts steakhouse. Best meal we have ever had at sea. Ate there twice. The minuses for me included the martini bar being moved to the center of activity. Way too noisy. Most people go there to have a drink and talk. With the very loud music you had to yell to be heard. While the layout of the Infinite Balcony cabin was nice with plenty of storage space and Chromecast (Yeah) I did not like not having the curtains. Curtains I could open partway and let some light in, or close the sheers for privacy from the ship docked next to you. The sliding closure from the top to the bottom didn't allow that. All in all I would book a Solstice Class ship for our next Celebrity cruise. |
