A short cruise to celebrate Marsha's birthday and to try Royal Caribbean again after 11 years. There were about 2,500 passengers for a ship that can hold up to 4,000. As usual there were things we really liked and some things we didn't. We liked the ship, the service and the food was very good, better than Princess has been. Our Jr Suite was roomy and included priority embarkation which really saved us from long boarding lines. The shows were good, we enjoyed the commedian and the ice show was very good. Royal Caribbean caters to a younger crowd so there were a lot of very young children on board. Fortunately almost all of them were well behaved. However the activities that were available were mostly geared to a younger crowd. I know we are older but we really didn't like the shorts and tshirts in the dining room at dinner, even on formal night. There were No wine tastings, no cooking demonstrations and no port talks. Overall we would go again but would prefer Celebrity or Princess. |
