Our trip to Alaska on the Ruby Princess was a lot of fun. We traveled with friends, Rick, Judy, Gary and Kim. We enjoyed absolutely
fantastic weather. Warm days with no rain anywhere. The ship was showing its age a little but is scheduled for a full refurbishment in
September.
We had to miss Juneau because of a medical emergency on board but otherwise Alaska was fantastic. The only excursion Marsha and I took was the train in Skagway. Otherwise we just walked around. The salmon were runnning upstream on Creek Street in Ketchikan. Hard to believe they could make it up those rapids. On board we had great service from a number of people. Henri, our stateroom steward, Denis, Zemi, Alexander and Sariyeh in Club class dining were all wonderful. Christopher in bar staff in the theater went out of his way to make sure I got my drink before the show started., Overall it was a great cruise with wonderful friends, great wine, fine service and excellent food. We also ate at the Chef's table, Crown Grill and Sabbatinis. All of the specialty dining was well worth the cost. There were a few minor issues. the chocolate souffles were made too far ahead of time and were dry and crusty. We missed not having Alfredos. Seating in the Horizon Court was always and issue. We had a couple of service glitches with the new bar staff. |
