Bob's Polymock Guide for the Reflex Handicapped
There are a lot of us who try Polymock over and over and finally manage to struggle past Plurgg but can't get by Blarp. We swear we come close but fail over and over. That's my story. I could never get by Blarp. Finally Milideca (TYVM Mili) logged on as me and ran my character thru. Obviously her reflexes are significantly faster than mine. However, then a funny thing happened. When she finished Master Hoff my character earned an unregistered Gold Mirage Iboga Polymock piece (MIP). Following the directions below and using the MIP I then proceeded to run my other characters thru myself. Blarp is still tough but now doable. Furthermore I then gave the MIP to Elle and she ran her character through before returning the one she earned to me. I then forwarded it on to Nukie who also got his pieces run through before again returning the MIP.
- Rearrange your screen so that all the important information is one place. You do not have time to look all over the place for information. I have included a screen shot of my setup below.
- Beg, borrow or steal a MIP from somebody but replace it when you are done.
- The MIPs Polymock Calculated Risk is just the greatest skill since it causes the enemy spells to take an additional 1 second to cast. This means he misses some critical blocks on your skills while even us reflex challenged folks can get in a few blocks on them.
- Whenever you start with a new character wait at least 20 seconds before starting so that the enemies Glyph of Concentration will be recharged.
- When you start a round cast your highest damage skill first. 2nd watch his skillbar and interrupt his next skill. 3rd cast Glyph of Concentration and then your #2 skill.
- When you get down to 2 or 3 energy cast Power Drain or Block to get to 0 quicker and cast ether signet.
- Early on I played the pieces as Kappa, MIP, fire imp. Once I got the Earth Elemental I played Earth Elemental, MIP, Kappa, except for Dune Teardrinker and Grulhammer Silverfist. Teardrinker's last piece has a killer Savannah Heat and Silverfist's Stone Summit has a couple of large AOE spells so save your MIP for last. I did not need to register any other pieces.
- You should always know what your opponents most powerful skill is and try to interrupt it. Link to Polymock Pieces
Good Luck!
